• Calls on the Member States and the wood industry to make substantial contributions to ensure that as many areas are reforested as are deforested;
• Calls on the Member States to ensure that the National Strategic Plans under the CAP will incentivise forest managers to preserve, grow and manage forests sustainably
• Calls on the Commission and the Member States to create economic and policy instruments that will allow more forest to grow to their ecological potential and absorb carbon dioxide
