• Calls on the Commission to explore the possibility for Member States to use any eligible fund or the Just Transition Fund to finance the research and development of SMRs
• Calls on the Commission to carry out an assessment to ensure that the development of SMRs is not hampered by potential shortfalls in the supply chain and to adapt accordingly
• Welcomes international initiatives to develop specific SMR designs; maintains that joint SMR design reviews can accelerate the licensing process without compromising nuclear safety and security
