European Parliament · 14 December 2023
European Hydrogen Bank
Adopted
418 in favour · 44 against · 59 abstained. 521 members voted.
What it asks for, in the Parliament's words
- Requests that the Commission submit a comprehensive evaluation of the EHB before its proposal for a new MFF
- Calls on the Member States to use green public procurement in order to favour goods produced with renewable hydrogen, such as steel used in the construction of public buildings and infrastructure
- Emphasises that private funding will be instrumental in building a European market for renewable hydrogen and that an efficient market, once developed, should not be dependent on public subsidies
